After a lifetime of involvement, I have seen most of the advancements that made modern archery what it is today. Many times over the years came innovations which proved to be revolutionary and changed it for the most part better. Yet the art of string making became and remains the most neglected part of archery today. How and why this came about with so many advances is because of the modern world itself.
Mass production and maximizing profits meant volume and deadlines to be met. Innovative technologies created the machinery to build the required volume in relatively good quality. Archery manufacturers could enjoy delivering archery to the modern world to whoever wished at reasonable prices.
Unfortunately they couldn't do the same with "Bowstring" technology. Machine made strings CANNOT be made in the required quality. Problems resulting from poor and inconsistent production techniques translate into poor and inconsistent arrow flight, tournament results and missed shots at game. The true "performability" of your great new bow is never known. Modern mass production could not supply strings the way they must be built.
We at Bowman Custom Strings have ,through intense diligence stayed faithful to the true and only methods of the "Art of String Making". The process of building must be individualized to each material and string. The process and techniques go back to the very roots of archery. My lifelong involvement and dissatisfaction with the quality of modern strings led me to the "Art" I know and understand.
Today we marry the past to a future never before imagined. Bowman Custom Strings has developed strings which actually improve the performance of your bow no matter how much or how little you paid for it.
No matter what string you purchased in the past, "NONE ANYWHERE" perform like Bowman Custom Strings. They have stood up to the rigors of the hot plains of South Africa to the extremes of Sub-Arctic cold. Fellow archers, I say to you with great pride the excellence of our strings has never been compromised.
